70 homes for poor families in Bohechio

Bohechío is a small town with a population of about 10,000, in the San Juan province of the Dominican Republic.

Loma de Yaque, Bohechio -- In the next few weeks, the government will handover 70 fully furnished homes built specifically for poor families.

The program is part of a RD$700 Million (approx. $16.3 Million US Dollars), investment project by the Medina administration, to build 700 homes, including 55 appartments, for low income families in the area.

The 700 million pesos being invested in the transformation of Loma de Yaque come from general funds of the Government. In this construction project also involved the Office of Supervising State Engineers OISOE) and the Provincial Development Council, said the engineer Vargas Hernández, who was accompanied by Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies, lic. Lucia Medina Sánchez, during a meeting with dozens of families who will benefit from the program.
