Untitled Female and Male Human Figures, by Sculptor Cristian Lora
"With clear reminiscences to the classical statuary, the work is formed by two bodies, one feminine and the other masculine, sculpted in plaster and marble, whose faces are veiled by hair. The female figure is voluptuous and athletic at the same time, with marked abs and widened hips in contrast to her narrow waist.
This modern Venus steatopygia is not a cult of fertility, but the obsession of fitting into a new beauty canon.
The male sculpture, of a more beige tone and less bright surface, shows an athletic body of chiseled muscles. Like its female counterpart, it represents the ideal of a body in fullness of its beauty."
