Yui Sakamoto Japanese-Mexican artist
Known for his vibrant and intricate dream-like paintings, Japanese-Mexican artist Yui Sakamoto creates works that continue the rich tradition of Surrealism in Mexico. Born in July 1981 in Aichi, Japan, and raised in Nagasaki, Sakamoto moved to Monterrey, Mexico in 2003 and earned a Carrera de Arte from the University of Monterrey in 2008. His art uniquely blends themes and iconography from Japanese culture, Mexican folk art, pre-Columbian artifacts, and contemporary cultural references, reflecting his dual heritage and creating a distinctive fusion that captivates and inspires.
