Frank Frazetta (1928–2010) was a legendary American artist known for his work in fantasy and science fiction genres. He's often regarded as one of the most influential fantasy illustrators of the 20th century. His dynamic and dramatic style, characterized by bold colors and muscular figures, set the standard for fantasy art in books, comics, and even films.
Frazetta became famous for his cover art for "Conan the Barbarian," "Tarzan," and other sword-and-sorcery novels. His work contributed to the popularization of the "heroic fantasy" genre, portraying powerful warriors, mythological creatures, and exotic, often dangerous, settings. He also did cover art for comics, including work with "Buck Rogers" and EC Comics. His art was unique in capturing motion and emotion in a way that made even static images feel alive and intense. Many modern fantasy artists, game designers, and filmmakers cite Frazetta as a major influence.
