Marta Lafuente Spanish Artist

Marta Lafuente, born in Barcelona in 1976, is an acclaimed artist and drawing professor at the "Universitat de Belles Arts de Barcelona." Since her first exhibition in Bologna in 1999, she has lived in Bologna, Madrid, and Barcelona, earning various distinctions like the Güell Foundation Award. Her work, often focused on memory, spans mixed techniques on cardboard, paper, and wood, and she is known for her childhood self-portrait series and use of veils with materials like marble dust and fabric collage. Lafuente’s art is featured in collections such as Banc de Sabadell and Vila Casas, and she frequently exhibits in Spain and the U.S. She also collaborates on illustrated books and regularly showcases her work in Barcelona galleries.
